TAMPA – With the Republican National Convention in Tampa less than 100 days away, organizers have a new worry: the Florida hurricane season.

Tropical Storm Debby's four-day stay in the Tampa Bay area left the neighborhood a muddy mess where the convention will be held, the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

Convention Chief Executive Officer William Harris said in a May press release:

“We’ve still got a lot of work to do, but I’m delighted to report that we’re right on schedule,” Harris declared, adding that work will intensify as the convention draws closer.

The convention is set for Aug. 27-30.
