Neal Communities buys 500 home lots in South Sarasota County

May 1, 2012

SARASOTA - Home builder Neal Communities has purchased 500 undeveloped home lots in Boca Royale Golf & Country Club, an 800-acre golf club community in south Sarasota County.

The company plans to make improvements to the club’s facilities and amenities, a press release said.

“Boca Royale’s classic design for this master-planned community attracted our team to this unique opportunity to bring our firm’s quest for quality to this environmental jewel,” says Pat Neal, president of Neal Communities.

A gated community, located off of State Road 776 in north Englewood, Boca Royale features an 18-hole golf course, clubroom, restaurant, tennis club, and 400 acres of wetlands and undeveloped home sites. Founded by George Thompson, Sr., a Tampa neighborhood developer, Boca Royale has been in development since 1977, and is now home to 600 residents.

Neal plans to rejuvenate the country club facilities, which they will lease and manage, and starting in June begin to develop roughly 500 new home sites under the current plan. Resident members of the homeowners’ association and the condominium association are extended club privileges.
