MANATEE -- Richard Morganstern and James Joseph, a pair of Manatee County men, were arrested Monday and charged with unarmed burglary of a structure.

Sheriff's office deputies got a burglary-in-progress call at 2:19 p.m. Monday at a home in the 5300 block of First Street East, according to a report.

The 911 call came from the homeowner, the report adds.

A witness told arriving deputies that he knew where the suspects had fled, the report states.

Deputies found Morganstern sweating as if he had just been running and with his jeans filled with "thorns" picked up going through brush or tall grass, the report states.

James, who was nearby, was also sweating when deputies met up with him, according to the report.

The witness told deputies he saw Morganstern and Joseph running from 55th Avenue East toward Third Street West, the report states.

The victim of the burglarylater positively identified the two men as the suspects who were just in her house, the report states.

Both Morganstern and Joseph were in the Manatee County jail Tuesday. Morganstern was being held on $10,000 bond, and Joseph was being held without bond.
