MANATEE COUNTY

Tenth Street West from Barcarrota Boulevard to Fourth Avenue: Third Avenue West from Ninth to 12th streets, and Barcarrota Boulevard from 10th to|12th streets, will beclosed through 7 a.m. Monday for the annual De Soto Heritage Festival Seafood Festival.

n Virginia Drive: The northbound lane between Seventh and Ninth avenues west will be closed through March for the Wares Creek dredging project.

n Traffic signals: Manatee County officials are asking drivers to use extra caution on major thoroughfares in coming months as traffic signals at large intersections are adjusted and retimed as the first major implementation of the Advanced Traffic Management System. More than 230 traffic signals in Manatee County will be better coordinated with each other, but will not mean a continuous chain of green lights around town during rush hours.

n State Road 789 (Gulf Drive) at Longboat Key Pass Bridge: An improvement project -- including bridge repair, painting and sidewalk construction -- is under way, with temporary nighttime lane closures 10 p.m.-6 a.m. (excluding 10 p.m. Fridays-6 a.m. Sundays). Motorists are advised to obey speed limit and exercise extreme caution. This project is anticipated for completion in the spring.
