Couture in the Courtyard a fashionable fundraiser for South Florida Museum

Published: March 16, 2012

There were parasails floating above the courtyard against the bluest springtime Florida sky. The tables were adorned with brilliant fuchsia cloths and centerpieces of bromeliads in blue-and-white Chinese porcelain pots. The courtyard at the South Florida Museum had never looked more stunning for the Couture in the Courtyard Fashion Show and Luncheon held March 12 benefitting the museum.

Guests were welcomed with a Champagne reception in the museum galleries and had the opportunity to preview Bobbi Brown cosmetics and shop in the Sax Fifth Avenue boutique.

Sax Fifth Avenue Sarasota's General Manager Sally Schule welcomed all and introduced the dynamic runway show featuring an array of spring's fresh fashions in bright, sunshiny colors. Fashions spanned from feminine and flirty shirtdresses to the prettiest of party dresses and show-stopping gowns perfect for dancing the night away.

Applause to Couture chair Susan Wilcox, vice chair Jeanie Kirkpatrick and their sensational committee for bringing this high-fashion affair to life. The event was sold-out for the third year running and Wilcox said she was so grateful for how the community has embraced this event. Kudos to presenting sponsor Hancock Bank (formerly Whitney) and the behind-the-scenes hair stylists from Seychelles Spa.
