Manatee woman's necklace snatched from around her neck

MANATEE -- A woman who had been shopping at Acapulco Tropical and was walking to her home in nearby Mira Logos had a necklace stolen about 8:16 p.m. Saturday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

As the victim walked through the gate of Mira Lagos in the 200 block of 34th Avenue Drive East, an unknown male approached her from behind and grabbed her necklace from around her neck. The thief fled onf foot in a north bound direction. The victim returned to her residence and then called to report the incident approximately ten minutes later. She was uninjured, a sheriff's report said.
