DVD thief warns Manatee store clerk he had gun

MANATEE -- A thief who stole several DVDs from a rack and hid them in his clothing, warned a convenience clerk who approached him that he had a gun, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The crime occurred about 4:38 a.m. this morning at a 7-Eleven in the 8600 block of 15th Street East, according to a sheriff's press release.

The suspect, described as a male in his 20s, stood 5-foot, 7 inches to 5 foot, 8 inches tall, weighed 160-170 pounds, wore a black T-shirt, blue jean pants, short and had black hair.

The thief fled in a west bound direction towards Whitfield Avenue on a dark-colored bike.
