MANATEE — A man ran away from a department store after he sneaked into the women’s fitting room and took a photo of an undressed woman with a cell phone, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said.

On Jan. 25, a woman was trying on a bathing suit in the fitting room of the store in the 7300 block of 52nd Place East. While in the stall, she noticed “shadows outside the open lower half of the dressing room door,” an incident report said.

While the woman was partially dressed, she heard an “electronic sound of a picture being taken,” the report said. She then saw a cell phone pointed at her under the stall door.

When she yelled, the peeping Tom ran out of the store. He was captured in surveillance video, which captured “excellent facial shots,” the report said.
