MANATEE -- A man jogging in the 8000 block of Bunker Hill Road in Parrish at 10:04 p.m. Thursday heard two gunshots.

The man saw a blue sports utility vehicle that he was not familiar with pass by him slowly, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

About two minutes later, the vehicle turned around and was approaching the jogger when he heard two gunshots just before the vehicle passed him, the report stated.

The jogger, who is licensed to carry a firearm, fired two warning shots from a .22-caliber pistol he was carrying into the woods, the report states.

The jogger then went to a neighbor’s house to report the incident, the report concludes.
