SARASOTA -- Grapevine Communications has added 24 new clients and two new staff members in 2011, and is looking forward to celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year.

Grapevine’s expanding client list represents a wide range of industries. The addition of Advantage Puck Technologies of Pennsylvania, Simplimatic Automation of Virginia and MultiFlex Inc. of Bradenton expands on one of the agency’s specialty niches in the packaging industry. Other new clients include local service-based businesses like Home-Tech and Mauldin & Jenkins, CPA.

Gateway collects $1,365 for local charities

BRADENTON -- Gateway Bank of Southwest Florida collected $1,365 in donations in its banking centers during the holiday season to benefit local charitable organizations.

The bank collected more than $700 in requested supplies to Manasota Operation Troop Support, an organization that helps local U.S. troops and their families and $360 for the “Adopt-A-Family” program through Whitfield Christian Church. Six children received gifts.

The Manatee Avenue banking center hosted a food drive and collected $105 in cash plus one large donation box of food, valued at $200. This was donated to Our Daily Bread of Bradenton, a community-driven organization devoted to feeding the hungry.

Sarasota Insignia Award goes to flooring company

SARASOTA -- The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce has presented G-Fried Flooring America with the Insignia Award for the month of January. The award recognizes the achievement of quality customer service and commitment to the community.

G-Fried Flooring America, founded in 1972, has been voted Best Floor Covering Store in Sarasota County 12 years in a row.

First Federal donates more than $1,200 to agencies

SARASOTA -- First Federal Bank of Florida and its Manatee and Sarasota employees donated more than $1,200 to local agencies through the First Federal Way program. Employees from Manatee and Sarasota counties donated $605, which facilitated a match of the same amount by First Federal for a total of $1,210 contributed to The Boys and Girls Club of Sarasota and The Child Protection Center of Sarasota.

Bank-wide, First Federal contributed over $54,000 to local community agencies.

Medallion Home sells 190 homes, $60 million in sales

MANATEE -- Medallion Home sold 190 new homes representing $60.1 million in sales, and closed 142 new homes representing $42.6 million in revenues for 2011.
