Paying homage on Pearl Harbor Day

Lee Magnet Middle School student Rony Puig plays WWII-era popular tunes like String of Pearls and Stompin' at the Savoy with the school's 25 member Advanced Jazz Band at the South Manatee Branch Library in Bradenton Wednesday. The library hosted a Pearl Harbor 70th Anniversary Commemoration for library patrons and members of the public. Guests and veterans were invited to write their wartime memories on cards, a collection of which will be displayed inside the library.

The event featured a selection of popular World War II-era tunes performed by the Electa A. Lee Magnet Middle School advanced jazz band.
