MANATEE -- An 18-year-old Parrish man was arrested Monday evening after his mother asked deputies to remove some marijuana plants from his bedroom, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

While deputies were investigating, Zachary Kirlangitis came home and admitted that the plants were his, according to a report.

Kirlangitis, who faces a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to sell, was in the Manatee County jail on a $5,000 bond.

Kirlangitis was arrested at his residence in the 12700 block of 20th Street East, Parrish.
