BRADENTON -- For the second straight season, the Bradenton Marauders will pick up where they left off.
The Marauders open the 2012 season at home when they host the St. Lucie Mets on April 5. The Mets and Marauders met during last month’s Florida State League South Division Championship Series, which St. Lucie won in three games.
Bradenton opened the 2011 season against the Charlotte Stone Crabs, who knocked the Marauders out of the 2010 playoffs.
Next year’s schedule, which was released Monday, includes two key changes. Sunday home games will begin at 5 p.m., while non-Sunday home games will start at 6:30 p.m.
The Marauders will also feature 10 a.m. starts on May 21, June 20 and Sept. 2.
Bradenton has won back-to-back South Division second-half titles during its two years in existence in Florida State League.
Seasons tickets will be made available as the season grows closer. For information, call 747-3031 or visit bradentonmarauders.com.
