MANATEE -- The May foreclosure rate for the North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota area rose 1.56 percentage points over May 2010 to 12.11 percent, according to data reported today by CoreLogic, a nationwide tracking service.
The area’s foreclosure rate is more than 8.5 percentage points higher than the national foreclosure rate of 3.45 percent, and slightly less than Florida’s rate of 12.43 percent. In addition, CoreLogic reported, 16.41 percent of the area’s mortgage loans were delinquent by 90 days or more in May, compared to 16.37 percent in May 2010.
