Pauline Bennett, managing broker of Coldwell Banker’s Residential Real Estate office in Sarasota, was one of only 18 people from across the U.S. and Canada invited to participate in Coldwell Banker’s annual Regional Advisory Committee meeting in June in Parsippany, NJ.

The Regional Advisory Council was established to obtain feedback from the Coldwell Banker broker/owner community.

Realtors Larry and Jill Johns have joined RE/MAX Alliance Group in the Siesta Key office. The Johns focus on residential properties and new home construction, specializing in single-family homes and condominiums in downtown Sarasota, Siesta Key, and gated and golf course communities.

Ross D. Montgomery, owner of Quality Systems and Technology, Inc. in Palmetto, was installed for a second term as a vice president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers at its 2011 annual conference in June.

Montgomery is a member of the board of directors and the executive committee and serves as chair of technology council.

John Sackett with WCI Communities has been named to the sales staff at Tidewater Preserve, the 373-acre gated master-planned community in Bradenton.

Sackett has more than 20 years of experience in finance and real estate sales specializing in existing and new-construction homes.

Jim Zientara, branch manager of Zientara Wealth Services, recently attended the Investment Management Consultants Association’s 2011 annual conference in Las Vegas, NV. The educational conference brought together almost 2,000 advance investment and wealth management professionals to share information, expand knowledge, and network with colleagues.

Attorney Mitchell O. “Mickey” Palmer has been installed as president of the Manatee County Bar Association for the 2011-12 term, and has recently opened a solo law practice at 5104 N. Lockwood Ridge Road, Suite 303-E. Civil litigation remains the focus of his practice, with an emphasis on construction law, eminent domain, real estate litigation and local government law.

Lewis, Longman & Walker, P.A., shareholders Terry E. Lewis, Stephen A. Walker, Anne Longman, Michelle Diffenderfer and Dennis Stotts have been selected as 2011 Florida Super Lawyers in the area of environmental law. Wayne Flowers has been selected as a Super Lawyer in the area of environmental litigation and H. Hamilton “Chip” Rice has been selected as a Super Lawyer in the area of government/cities/municipalities law.

Maggie Mooney-Portale has been named a 2011 Rising Star in the area of government/cities/municipalities Law. Joe Ullo and Keri-Ann Baker also have been named 2011 Rising Stars in the area of environmental law.

R. Steven Lewis, Wayne Flowers and Diffenderfer have each recently been named one of Florida Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite 2011.

Rick Wilmeth, a vice president of construction at Taylor Morrison West Florida, recently received a Patriotic Employer designation from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, an organization within the U.S. Department of Defense.

Mary Pedersen was promoted to human resources director for the corporate office of Take Care Private Duty Home Health Care, overseeing all HR operations for more than 500 employees across four offices of Take Care.

Mark C. Hanewich and Liz Alpert have joined Tannenbaum Scro, a law firm with offices in Sarasota and Clearwater, as partners. The firm will now be known as Tannenbaum Scro Hanewich & Alpert, Attorneys at Law.

Hanewich practiced as a real estate lawyer in Massachusetts and Rhode Island for 16 years prior to moving to Florida in 2000, where he has since concentrated his practice in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, lending and corporate law. Alpert concentrates her practice in the areas of marital and family law. She sits on the Human Relations Board of the City of Sarasota.

Deborah J. Blue, a shareholder in Dickinson & Gibbons, P.A., has received her board certification in marital and family law by the Florida Bar. Blue has been designated a Florida Super Lawyer in the family law category 2006-2011 and was selected for the inaugural Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers.
