Manatee County prep athletes to sign with colleges today

Today is National Signing Day, the day student-athletes make their college choices official.

Six area high schools are expected to have players sign with their respective schools, ranging from Division I schools playing for Bowl Championship Series bids to Division III schools.

Listed below are the area players expected to sign:

Football

Bradenton Christian: Austin Dumas, Marshall University.

Braden River: Dillon Romine, University of New Mexico.

Manatee: Quenton Bundrage, Iowa State; Prince Matt, Florida International University; Nick Galati, Jacksonville University; Will Beasley, University of Charleston; Chris Pompey, Eastern Kentucky University; Quinton Pompey, Eastern Kentucky University.

Out-of-Door Academy: Chris Ragone, Trinity College; Jake Siciliano, Wesleyan University.

Palmetto: Chris Calloway, Ball State; Marquis Green, University of Tennesee-Chattanooga.

Southeast: Boe Brand, Western Kentucky; Dyron Speight, Western Kentucky; Terran Williams, Western Kentucky; Giovani Francois (formerly of Southeast, now at Henry Wise High in Maryland), Florida International University.

BASEBALL

Palmetto: Granden Goetzman, Florida Gulf Coast University.
