Pedestrian hit by thrown object along local street

PALMETTO -- A 49-year-old man had an object thrown at him from a passing truck as he walked alongside 2nd Avenue West, the sheriff’s office reports.

The incident happened at about 4:15 a.m. Friday in the 1700 block of 2nd Avenue West. The victim believes it was a black Ford Explorer that approached him and someone inside threw something that struck him in the face, according to the release.

No description of the suspects was given.
