SARASOTA -- A 27-year-old Bradenton man has been charged with sexual exposure and stalking after he allegedly went to an 89-year-old Sarasota woman’s back yard and masturbated on multiple occasions, according to a Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Alexis Ali Moreland faces five counts of exposing himself and one count of stalking after the woman reported seeing him on at least seven occasions dating back to March 2010. Moreland has already posted $30,000 bond from the jail.

Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office investigators increased surveillance and placed a camera in the back of the woman’s house to identify Moreland. Authorities were able to arrest him a few days later.

Wendy Rose, community affairs manager, said the woman recognized Moreland from the incidents, but had never met him before. In at least one incident, Moreland peered in the woman’s window and other times he appeared nude.

As a part of his condition for release, Moreland was ordered to have no contact with the woman and to stay at least 500 feet from the woman’s property.

Moreland has no prior criminal history locally.
