BRADENTON — Three local banks improved their financial security ratings in the second quarter ending June 30, according to Bauer Financial’s bank star ratings released today.
The Lakewood Ranch-based Community Bank of Manatee improved to a two-star rating in the second quarter, from a one-star rating in the first quarter ending March 30.
Bauer Financial rates banks and credit unions on a sale of zero to five stars, with five being the strongest.
Sarasota’s Sabal Palm Bank also moved up to a two-star rating, from one star.
And the Sarasosta start-up Gateway Bank of Southwest Florida received its first Bauer Financial rating, a four-star ranking. Since establishing in March 2008, Gateway Bank of Southwest Florida had been too new to rank.
