SARASOTA — Voalté recently sent two of its employees to the Disney Institute for an intensive, three-day training where they received a behind-the-scenes look into the theme park’s culture-building and people-management magic.

The Disney Institute, the professional development and training arm of The Walt Disney Co., gives business professionals from around the world the opportunity to learn practices from Disney leaders. During the training, participants delve into a living laboratory where facilitators discuss Disney’s four main people management themes: recruitment, training, communication, and care.

Fresenius Medical named ‘Center of Excellence’

BRADENTON — Fresenius Medical Care North America named its Fresenius Medical Care Bradenton facility at 5902 Pointe West Blvd. a Center of Excellence for achieving the highest standards in patient care in 2009. Each year, to encourage continuous quality improvement, the company recognizes its facilities that are noteworthy in their high achievement of clinical quality outcomes.

The dialysis clinic was one of three clinics nationwide to receive the recognition.

Elite Solar awarded Business of the Year award

SARASOTA — Associated Builders & Contractors Inc. has awarded Elite Solar Services the 2010 Business of the Year Award for diversity.

Monica Kennedy accepted the award at a ceremony in Tampa at the Westshore Marriott Hotel. Elite Solar also is a certified minority business enterprise with the State of Florida and National Women Business Owners Corp.

The company offers renewable energy and energy efficiency systems to customers with special expertise in solar electric, hot water and pool heating.

The company also offers customer support services like education, energy audits, design and financing.

Sarasota company opens office in Chile

SARASOTA — IMAP Inc. has selected South Andes Capital as its IMAP representative for Chile.

With an office in Santiago, South Andes Capital joins 45 other IMAP offices with advisers and analysts in nearly 30 countries through- out North and South America, Eastern and Western Europe, and Asia.
