MANATEE — A woman responding to a knock on her door at 3:13 p.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of U.S. Highway 41 North in Palmetto found a man holding a rifle and demanding money.
When the woman countered, “What money?” the man fled west without getting anything, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
A police dog responded but could not track the suspect, the report adds.
There were no shots fired and no injuries, the report states.
