Woman airlifted after I-75 crash

MANATEE -- A woman was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center n St. Petersburg with non-life threatening injuries this morning after the white 1997 SUV she was driving overturned into an Interstate 75 median near State Road 64, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers were investigating what caused the crash, said FHP Lt. Chris Miller.

Southbound traffic was blocked temporarily just after 9:15 a.m. because the helicopter had to land to transport the woman, he said.

A center guard rail was damaged in the crash. The woman was the only occupant of the SUV
