Saint Stephen’s wastes no time digging into the Class 1B-District 6 schedule when it hosts Naples St. John Neumann.

Here’s how the matchup breaks down:

Naples St. John Neumann at Saint Stephen’s

Where: Turner Fields

When: 4 p.m.

Scouting Naples St. John Neumann: The Celtics are looking to rebound from a 2-7 season and return quarterback Dylan Woods, who rushed for 60 yards and threw for two scores during the spring win against Naples Golden Gate. He will get protection from a line that includes guys such as Ralph Coleman (6-foot-3, 235 pounds), Dylan Prisco (6-2, 220), Mike Paganes (6-2, 200) and Dustin Cooper (5-10, 180).

Scouting the Falcons: Saint Stephen’s opens it’s Class 1B-District 6 slate against an easier foe than St. Petersburg Admiral Farragut, which had no trouble getting past the Falcons during last week’s Kickoff Classic. The offensive line is young, so coach Stan Brown is hoping Jeremy Perron can air it out to a receiving core that includes Sam Mire and Adam Vining. Today is Saint Stephen’s lone home game of the month, and it’s a district game, to boot. So even though it is the first of 10, and win would be crucial toward the Falcons staying the playoff hunt.

The score: St. John Neumann 21, Saint Stephen’s 14.
