UNIVERSITY PARK — University Park Country Club & Fit2Run are hosting the 9/11 four-mile run to benefit the 9/11 Fireman’s Emergency Services Memorial Fund. The cross country run is set for the grounds of University Park Country Club 7:30 a.m. Sept. 11 and will start with a ceremony and a moment of silence.
The race will be followed by a kid’s race for all ages. All participants will receive a specially designed T-shirt.

Applicants sought for city’s Code Enforcement Board
BRADENTON — The city of Bradenton is accepting applications to fill an open position on its Code Enforcement Board.
Applicants must live in the city limits and have a general interest in the well-being and upkeep of the city. The seven-member board meets at 2:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at city hall council chambers, 101 Old Main St.
This is a volunteer position.
