MANATEE

Folk craft exhibit, Manatee Village Historical Park: 1404 Manatee Ave. E., Bradenton

Manatee Village Historical Park will host a year-long Folk Craft Exhibit 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and every second and fourth Saturday of each month in which four popular folk crafting processes, characteristic of life in Manatee from 1880s-1920s, chair weaving, saddle making, quilting and pottery making, are featured. Music on Main: Main Street, Lakewood Ranch

Main Street at Lakewood Ranch will host a Music on Main concert 6-9 p.m. Sept. 3 featuring live music by the Mitch Clark Band. Beer, wine and food sales will benefit Wobbly Feet Foundation, Inc. Second annual Scottish celebration “Celtic Ceilidh”: Firkins and Fox Pub, 2505 Manatee Ave. E., Bradenton

The second annual celebration of the Celtic Ceilidh, featuring dancing, singing, bagpipes, raffles and live music by the Jacobites Pipe and Drum band will be 6 p.m. Sept. 4. Registration for the fourth annual Remembrance Ride will be 4-5:30 p.m. Sept. 11; ride starts at 6 p.m. Motorcyclists will go north from Bayshore High on 34th Street to 53rd Avenue; west on 53rd Avenue to the roundabout; north on 75th Street West to Cortez Road; west on Cortez Road to Gulf Drive; south on Gulf Drive to Coquina Beach. The local group of Deep Sky Observers, a Manatee/Sarasota group of astronomy enthusiasts, will offer the public a chance to view spectacular celestial sights through their high-powered telescopes 7:30-10 p.m. Sept. 11, weather permitting. Participants will be treated to up close views of the moon and other celestial objects as they become visible throughout the evening. The event is free and open to the public.
