Bishop Planetarium Summer Film Series: South Florida Museum, 201 10th St. W., Bradenton

“Life on Earth” film series: Thursdays through Aug. 26. Upcoming movies include “For All Mankind,” July 29; “Deep Blue,” Aug. 5; “Aliens of the Deep” and “Sacred Planet,” Aug. 12; “Microcosmos,” Aug. 19; “Encounters at the End of the World,” Aug. 26. Model Train Social: Palmetto Historical Park, 515 10th Ave. W., Palmetto

The Historical Park and Manatee County Agricultural Museum’s second summer social will be held 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 7 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 8. The Florida Garden Railroad Society will bring models trains, with setups including Thomas the Tank and Tropicana. There will be a visit from the Smurfs and their train.
