Island home sales dip during June
ANNA MARIA ISLAND — Home and condominium sales on Anna Maria Island fell slightly in June, according to an island Realtor’s analysis.
There were 17 island residential properties sold last month, compared to 19 in the same month a year ago, according to John van Zandt of Island Real Estate, who obtained his figures from Multiple Listing Service data. Sales prices were between 9 percent and 12 percent lower than a year ago, depending on the property type.
Despite the lackluster June figures, sales are up 47 percent for the year ended June 30 compared to the previous year. There were 268 homes sold between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010 compared to 182 in the year ended June 30, 2009, van Zandt said.
