BRADENTON — A lender has sued to foreclose on a west Bradenton shopping center, court records show.
Bank of America’s suit, filed Tuesday in Manatee County Circuit Court, contends Cortez Village Square LLC defaulted on a $3.65 million loan by missing a September 2009 payment and all others since. The company, based in Mill Neck, N.Y., owes nearly $2.98 million, the suit said.
The bank also is seeking a court-appointed receiver for the Cortez Village Square shopping center at 6601 Cortez Road W. The 46,476-square-foot center houses small neighborhood shops and service providers.
Job service center moves to new location
SARASOTA — Goodwill’s Job Connection Service office in southern Manatee County has moved to a new location.
The job service now is at 3105 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, after previously being at 7501 15th St. E. near Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.
The center, led by Ed Padilla, provides job training, counseling, computer use, resume writing and dress for success techiques for all job seekers.
