3/11 Business briefs: Free foreclosure clinic offered

BRADENTON — The Manatee Community Action Agency, Inc. and St. Petersburg Neighborhood Housing Services Inc. are offering another free foreclosure clinic Monday.

The clinic will be held at the Manatee Community Action Agency Meeting Room, 302 Manatee Ave. E, third floor, from 6-7:30 p.m.

The educational program will focus on consumers’ rights in a foreclosure, the purchasing of a home, renting a home, renting a home in foreclosure and other topics. To register, call (941) 827-0188, ext. 7802.

SCORE free business workshops set

SARASOTA — Both new business owners and those planning to start new businesses can attend several SCORE free Workshop sessions.

The presenters are successful executives, business owners and professionals. The sessions include Starting New Business in Florida, Building Your Business Plan, Financing Your Business, Manage & Grow Your Business, Marketing and Sales.

The workshops are held in classroom E-3 at 4748 Beneva Road. Saturday workshops are held from 9:30 a.m. to noon; Monday and Tuesday evening sessions are held from 5:30-8 p.m.

Design awards to honor local architects’ work

MANATEE — The Gulf Coast Chapter Design Awards, which encourage excellence in architecture and recognize designers and contractors whose work enriches the built environment, will be held April 22.

The award program is open to AIA professional and allied members, other licensed architects, and students.

Winners will be announced at a reception, part of the 2010 Sarasota Design Conference at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota.
