BRADENTON - Bradenton’s monthly street party Get Down Downtown will be the third Wednesday of the month instead of the usual third Thursday to coincide with St. Patrick’s Day, and the hours have been extended and more music added.

This special Get Down is scheduled for Wednesday, March 17, on Old Main Street. The city will barricade Old Main Street between Manatee and Fourth avenues west from 2 p.m.-midnight. Live music is scheduled from 4-10 p.m. on two stages.

The band Big Daddy will play from 4-8 p.m. on the south stage except for a brief intermission at 6 p.m. for the evening’s opening ceremonies, including a color guard and the National Anthem. At 8 p.m., Tommy Devine and Paul William will play traditional Irish music from the south stage. The Hernando DeSoto Crewe will invade the south stage around 9 p.m.

On the north stage, the band Final Cut will play from 6-10 p.m.
