Bradenton Christian is hosting a 5K run March 20 at G.T. Bray to benefit the school’s athletic programs.

The cost is $20 and includes a moisture management shirt.

To register, call Amber Ricket at 794-1297 or go online to bcspanthers.org and click on athletics.

Juco baseball

SCF 1, Hillsborough CC 0 — Brandon Patterson’s ninth-inning single scored Tyler Rocklein for the game-winner for the host Manatees (14-6, 2-1 Suncoast Conference).

Josh Renfro (3-1) fired a complete game, allowing six hits and striking out 12.

Rocklein and B.J. Zimmerman were both 2-for-4.

Juco softball

SCF 0-3, Santa Fe CC 3-1 — The visiting Manatees were no-hit in the first game but bounced back to split the doubleheader.

Winning pitcher Kayla Ellingsen scattered five hits for a complete-game victory in the second game. Stephanie Juergens was 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, and Kelsey Maffucci was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs for SCF (15-14).

The Manatees return to action today at home with games at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. against Tallahassee Community College.

Prep softball

CLEARWATER CENTRAL CATHOLIC 5, BRADENTON CHRISTIAN 2 — Rachel Brown was 2-for-3, and Hailey Dearlove, Jordan O’Laskey, Madison Putnam and Kelly Moss each had one hit for the host Panthers (1-2).

Prep baseball

BRADENTON CHRISTIAN 20, Citrus Park Christian 1 (5) — Michael Ananicz and Tucker Owen each blasted three-run homers as the host Panthers (3-4) rolled. Jonathan Braam earned the win, allowing one earned run in four innings of work.

Prep track and field

MANATEE — The Canes boys team crowned two individual champions Saturday at the 17-team Lake Branley Open.

Ace Sanders won the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 7 inches, and Quenton Bundrage won the high jump with a height of 6 feet, 4 inches.

Brice Smith was sixth in the high jump at 6 feet. The Canes’ 4x100 meter relay team of Chris Freeman, Mike Blakely, Mike Monix and Sanders took fourth with a time of 43.48.

On the girls side, Bree Anne Campbell finished third in the shot put (32 feet, 8 inches) and fourth in the discus (95 feet, 7 inches). Darion Watkins took eighth in the shot put (29 feet, 8 inches). Meredith Argeros was seventh in the 300 hurdles and eighth in the 100-meter hurdles.
