The Lakewood Ranch girls track team finished first Friday night at the Ram Invitational at Sarasota Riverview.

Kristen Zarrella won the Runner’s Award for the girls after she won the 1,600 meters in 5:25 (a school record), the 3,200 meters in 11:51 and was on the winning 3,200 relay with Olivia Ortiz, Natalie Novak and Ashley Pratt. They finished in a school-record time of 9:50.

Lakewood Ranch’s Damian Gilbert won the 100 meters in 11.58 seconds, while Leah Wierichs was first in both the 100-meter hurdles (17.15) and 300-meter hurdles (50.98).

Saint Stephen’s Hannah Howell won the 400 meters in 59.74 seconds, a school record that is also reportedly the fastest time by a girl at a Class 1A school in the state this year. Howell was also second in the 800 at 2:25 and the anchor on the winning 1,600 relay team (4:26) with Alyssa Allen, Lauren Csubak and Morgan Williams.
