The Bradenton Christian softball team started its 2010 season with a bang Monday.
Freshman Hailey Dearlove fired a no-hitter and went 3-for-5 at the plate as the Panthers beat host Tampa Cambridge 19-0 in their season opener.
Madison Putnam was 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, Rachel Brown was 3-for-4 with a solo homer, and Jordan Olaskey also had three hits for BCS.

Palmetto 10, Lakewood Ranch 6 — Brett Vedder was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in host Palmetto’s victory.
Jake Wilson was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a stolen base, and Brandon Forrest was 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Tigers (4-3, 2-0 Class 4A-District 10).
Starter Ryan Frey (2-1) scattered five hits over five innings and allowed one earned run.
Sean Nesius pitched the final two innings for his second save.
