Pirates to honor Manatee High football team

The Pittsburgh Pirates on March 10 will honor coach Joe Kinnan and the 2009 Manatee High School football team during a spring training game at McKechnie Field.

The football squad and Kinnan will be on hand to meet and greet fans and celebrate the school’s first appearance in the Class 5A State Finals in 17 years. Coach Kinnan – a four-time Manatee High state championship winning coach – will be presented with an official Pirates jersey, and fans will enjoy one final opportunity to see the team.

The Pirates play the Baltimore Orioles March 10 at 7:05 p.m. at McKechnie Field in downtown Bradenton. Gates will open at 5 p.m. with pre-game ceremonies starting at 6 p.m. To purchase tickets to this game or any other game at McKechnie Field, call (877) 893-2827 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. or stop by the box office at 1611 Ninth St. W.
