Help send Rogers Garden students to a Pirates game

February 17, 2010

Businesses, groups, families and neighborhood associations can help send a classroom of students from a downtown Bradenton elementary school to the annual Pittsburgh Pirates vs. State College of Florida baseball game.

The game is at 12:05 p.m. March 2 at McKechnie Field, the first game of the 2010 spring training season.

Sponsorships are available for $200 through the Manatee Education Foundation, which seeks to send students from Rogers Garden Elementary to the game. The sponsorships include popcorn, peanuts and a t-shirt for students. T-shirts will include the names of the contributing sponsors.

For more information on sponsorships, call Tricia McKay May, coordinator of Development for the Manatee Education Foundation, at (941) 708-8770 ext. 2149.

Tickets to the game are currently on sale for $7. Proceeds will benefit Rogers Garden and Wakeland elementary schools. Visit the McKechnie Field box office, 1611 9th St. W., or call the Pirates at (877) 893-2827.
