Florida Power & Light will be trimming tree branches and limbs and clearing overgrown vegetation near its lines in downtown Bradenton and neighborhoods north of Manatee Avenue during the next few weeks, the city said this morning in an email alert.

They will be removing vegetation and branches that could knock out a power line during windy weather.

A map of the work area is attached to this story.

Residents should provide FPL access to trees near power lines in the back of their property. If access to private property is required, a contractor will contact the resident personally or leave a note at the property in advance of any work.

Property owners should not attempt to trim any trees or vegetation growing on or near power linesthemselves, according to the city and FPL.

For more information, call FPL vegetation management at (866) 274-9098 and refer to Work Order No. 3682892.
