MANATEE - A man approached two people in separate incidents Sunday night in the 700 block of 59th Avenue East and pointed a gun at them and demanded they take off their clothes, according to sheriff deputies.

In the first incident, a woman was told to take off her clothes and give the robber her backpack. Instead, she pushed the gun away and the would-be robber took off.

In a second incident, a man was told to remove his clothes by the robber and when he did, the suspect fled. Nothing of value was taken, deputies said.
