Cougars stay unbeaten in 3A-District 11

Hannah Howard scored two goals, and Cardinal Mooney’s girls soccer team beat Southeast 6-0 on Thursday.

Megan McCurdy, Tara Kerr, Alexa Stein and Anne Redmond also scored for the Cougars (8-4-1, 6-0 3A-11).

Abby Goecker and Shereen Baghi had assists.

LAKEWOOD RANCH 7, RIVERVIEW 0 — Sarah Miller had three goals and an assist to lead the visiting Mustangs (11-0-2), who recorded their seventh shutout.

Other standouts included Deana Haller (goal, assist), Sarah Wolfe (goal, assist), Jo Salmon (goal), Kristen Zarella (goal), Aubrey Riggins (assist), Audrey Reinisch (assist) and Kaitlin Degleman (assist).

MANATEE 3, VENICE 1 — The host Canes (11-1-1 3-0 5A-10) continued their strong play, beating the Indians.

Jason Henderson, Joey Hutchinson and Chris Kurutz scored goals for Manatee, which also got assists from Jordan Rothfeld and Julius Gomes.

EDISON ACADEMIC 74, LANDMARK CHRISTIAN 70 — The host Eagles overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to beat their opponents from Haines City.

Three players — P.J. Engram (19 points), Zech Kendall (16) and Bradley Rich (11) — hit double figures for Edison (7-4).
