Barbara Harvey
Length of duty: Elected in 1998, re-elected in 2002 and 2006. Term ends in 2010.
District includes: Northern Manatee County, including parts of Palmetto, Parrish and Duette. Schools include Blackburn and Williams elementary schools, and Johnson and Buffalo Creek middle schools.
District 2
Harry Kinnan
Length of duty: Elected in 1996, re-elected in 2000, 2004 and 2008. Term ends in 2012.
District includes: Bradenton to southern Manatee County. Schools include Abel and Rowlett elementary schools, Harllee Middle School and Manatee and Southeast high schools.
District 3
Jane Pfeilsticker, vice chair
Length of duty: Elected in 2006. Term ends in 2010.
District includes: Eastern Manatee County, including Myakka City. Schools include Kinnan and Witt elementary schools, Haile and Nolan middle schools and Lakewood Ranch and Braden River high schools.
District 4
Bob Gause
Length of duty: Elected in 2006 after an incumbent stepped down in the middle of the term. Gause’s term ends in 2012.
District includes: Western Manatee County including Anna Maria Island, coastal Bradenton and western Palmetto. Schools include Palma Sola and Stewart elementary schools, King and Lee middle schools and Palmetto High School.
District 5
Walter Miller, chairman
Length of duty: Elected in 1998. Re-elected in 2002 and 2006. Term ends 2010.
District includes: West Bradenton to southern Manatee County. Schools include Moody and Seabreeze elementary schools, Sugg Middle School and Bayshore High School.
