2 hurt in unrelated stabbings in Manatee

MANATEE — Two men were stabbed in unrelated incidents this afternoon, according to authorities.

In Palmetto, a man in his 20s was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg after he was stabbed in the chest, according to Palmetto Police.

The stabbing occurred in the 500 block of 11th Street West at about 4:10 p.m. Police were still investigating what led to the attack.

The man’s wound did not appear to serious, but he was complaining of chest pain to paramedics. His condition was not available late Saturday.

The second stabbing happened about 6:30 p.m. in the 900 block of 25th Street West, Bradenton.

The victim was arguing with another man in the 900 block of 25th Street West when he was stabbed in the upper chest with an unknown object, said Bradenton Police Sgt. Jeremy Giddens.

The victim received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Bayfront. As of Saturday night, no arrests had been made in the case, according to police.
