BRADENTON — A 33-year-old woman was flown to a local hospital after she reportedly lost control of her car and struck a flagpole, fire hydrant and bus bench Thursday night on Manatee Avenue West, according to Bradenton Police Department.

The woman told police she lost control of the car at about 9:22 p.m. in the 2400 block of Manatee Avenue West because she was in excruciating pain with an abscessed tooth. She was driving west and no other vehicle was involved in the crash.

Officers closed off Manatee Avenue for the helicopter to land. The crash remains under investigation.
