BRADENTON - Bradenton Police Officer Danelle DeMilly has been selected to receive the Officer of the Month award for the month of October 2009.

She was nominated by Lt. Darrell Akemon for going above and beyond her efforts to improve the quality of life for residents of her patrol zone, according to a news release.

"Officer DeMilly has assisted in several special detail operations in the past month that have helped make her zone a better place to live," the release stated. "She initiated and organized an abandoned vehicle sweep with the help of code enforcement, which identified more than 60 abandoned vehicles. She assisted the department with a prostitution sting in which she went undercover. "

DeMilly has served with the Bradenton Police Department since 2004. She is currently assigned to patrol operations.
