Manatee Humane Society receives $25,000 grant

MANATEE - The Humane Society of Manatee County received a $25,000 grant from Florida Animal Friends Inc.

This grant money comes from fees collected when auto owners purchase an Animal Friend license plate.

The funds will be used to provide free spay/neuter surgeries to a limited number pit bulls and pit bull mixes, pets of individuals who have been afftect by the economy and feral cats. These grant-related surgeries will be available to residents of Manatee County while the low cost spay/neuter clinic’s regular programs are available to everyone with no residency or income qualifications.
