MANATEE — Authorities do not believe a reported home invasion in a Heritage Harbour home in which a woman reported being knocked unconscious is related to a series of home invasions in which other women have been attacked.

Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reports say the victim said when she came home Tuesday, in the 300 block of Fairway Isles Lane, a masked man entered her home and hit her with a blunt object. The man demanded the woman “tell me where it’s at, where’s his technology.”

The victim said the man hit her again, knocking her unconscious, but when she awoke nothing was missing from her home. Sheriff’s spokesman Dave Bristow said the attack is still under investigation. The victim refused medical attention, but did appear to have minor injuries, Bristow said.

Bristow said the reported attack is not believed to be related to numerous home invasions reported in recent months in which woman have been reported attacked. Authorities in Manatee and Sarasota believe the attacks may have been committed by the same person. “We don’t think the Heritage Harbour incident is related. It just doesn’t fit with the others,” said Bristow.
