EAST MANATEE — A woman was beaten and knocked unconscious during a home invasion Tuesday in Heritage Harbour.

According to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report, the woman heard someone come in the front door of her home at about 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Fairway Isles Lane in the Stoneybrook Golf and Country Club at Heritage Park subdivision.

She thought it was her son, but when she turned to see a man, described as 6-feet, 1-inch tall, with a thin build and wearing all black clothing and gloves and a mask, she was sprayed in the face with a mint-smelling substance.

The man then struck her in the face with a blunt object and she fell.

She said she was was dragged to the office and the suspect yelled, “Tell me where it’s at. Where’s his technology?”

The victim told the suspect she did not know what he was talking about, but he threatened to break her legs.

He then hit her in the head, knocking her unconscious.

When she awoke an hour to an hour-and-a-half later, she called 911.
