Manatee County has two all-state high school basketball players.

On Tuesday, Bradenton Christian’s 6-foot-4 forward Michael Frey and The Pendleton School at IMG Academies’ 6-foot-10 senior Kryl Natashyzko were named to the 2008-09 all-state basketball team.

The all-state teams were picked by the Florida sportswriters and members of the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches.

Frey was named to the Class 1A second team after averaging 13 points and eight rebounds to guide the Panthers to the 1A state final four.

Natashyzko was selected to the independent team made up of players whose schools do not compete in FHSAA district play.
