A heat advisory until 7 p.m. Saturday has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Bradenton-Sarasota area. Heat indices from 105-110 degrees are expected Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will reach the upper 90s away from the coast and into the lower 90s along the coast.

“People should use good judgment by staying hydrated and minimizing outdoor activity," said Ed McCrane, Emergency Management Chief for Sarasota County.

A heat advisory is issued when the heat index, a measure of how it feels when temperature and humidity are combined, exceeds 105 degrees for three hours or more during the day and nighttime temperatures remain around 80 degrees for two days or more.
