Balance Pilates and Yoga Centers Involved in fitness education since 1987, Connie Borho, Founder of Balance Pilates and Yoga Centers, has seen exercise trends evolve from a high impact, high intensity approach, to a gentler mind/body focus Ð and she's happy to see it.
Connie's resume reads like a Who's Who in the fitness industry, including references to certifications from AEA, ACE, and AFAA - leading organizations most fitness buffs are familiar with. However, what sets Connie and her sought after studios apart from other fitness alternatives is her extensive affiliations and experience with mind/body organizations such as The Yoga Alliance, Peak Pilates, and the PMA (Pilates Method Alliance). My passion for Pilates began in the early 90's when I was able to study under an apprentice of Joseph Pilates in New York, Connie reflects. Once I experienced the benefits of the Pilates mind/body connection for myself, my focus and teaching methods were never the same.
Connie's expertise and commitment to safety is part of the reason why she is now a National Teacher Trainer for Peak Pilates. With over 20 years of experience, Connie is a well-known and sought after dynamic presenter, teaching extensive continuing education classes to fitness and wellness teachers throughout the United States. ÊShe has worked with prima ballerinas in New York, award-winning body builders and triathletes; and professional football, baseball, and tennis players. Back, hip, knee and shoulder issues are areas that she has had great success in bringing greater strength, functionality, and stability to. Connie also has specialty certification and expertise in Pre- and Post-Natal exercise. She is a certified doula, and has worked with OB/GYNs to physically prepare mothers for birth and beyond.
