What: Bayshore (0-1) at Palmetto (0-1)

When:7:30 p.m. on Friday

The scoop: The Tigers lost consecutive games only once last season, and will try to avoid that fate tonight against the Bruins. Quarterback Ethan Gilbert was solid last week, throwing for 181 yards and a touchdown. But Palmetto needs to get more from a ground game that rushed for less than 30 yards. Receiver Damian Copeland is good to go after cramps in his calves kept him out of the final play of the last week's loss to Southeast. Defensive end Kedric Johnson, offered scholarships by a slew of Division I schools, collected three sacks against the Noles. The Bruins mustered just 132 yards of offense against Manatee in Week 1, though quarterback Dustin Linderman and receiver Elias Guadarrama teamed for four catches against the Hurricanes. The teams have spilt the first two meetings since Palmetto coach Raymond Woodie left Bayshore's sideline and returned to his alma mater.

The pick: Palmetto 28, Bayshore 7.
