The scoop: The Seminoles hope to avenge a 18-9 lost to the Mustangs last year. To do that, Southeast must improve on an 88-yard offensive performance against Palmetto in last Friday's 17-10 overtime win. Tailback Waymon Bowden was the bright spot for the Noles, rushing for 33 yards on 10 carries and the game-winning touchdown. After a last-second 14-7 lost to Braden River last week, the Mustangs hope to welcome back Division I receiving prospect Marcus McNeal, who sat out the opener after missing a practice during the week due to illness. Lakewood Ranch had 142 yards of offense, and the Mustangs allowed the Pirates to average 5.3 yards a carry. Defensive tackle Eian Mong (groin pull) might not play.
The score: Southeast 24, Lakewood Ranch 14.
